i found a local guy on craigslist with some 2' drop springs. Hes giving them away cheap as he doesnt have the truck anymore. I saw a picture , he had them on the same model i have , z71.
I just wanted to know if i need anything else? i just want level not slammed.
can i just swap out my coils to these and be done?

z71 is an inch or two taller in the rear than a non z71 vehicle. Due to this, those 2" drop springs are likely more like 3" for your truck. You can always adjust the t bars an inch or so in either direction without making any noticeable change in ride quality to get it where you want it.

Shock relocation brackets or shorter shocks might be worthwhile.

For any drop at all I'd suggest doing the free travel mod, or atleast trimming the rear bumpstop.

Those are the only things that I would be concerned with.

Ok thanks. So i picked them up last night. I got the springs and the other hardware, i think they are shock relocation brackets?
based on what ive seen , the paint job on them they look like the DJM springs.
My guess is i will want to use the keys to get the front down some too. I understand and have watched a few videos on this. But is there a limit to how far i drop? it appears eventually i will just run out of thread?
I probably wont tackle this for a few weeks, but im thinking i will need an alignment once i drop it?

Dirt cheap! Great score. Guy on cl is selling two sets, 2" and 3", for $80 a set. Hopefully he's going to respond back. Alit of flakes on cl!

exactly, he said the price. i said " im on my way right now".
If i had the option for the 3" i think i would, but from what i understand would need more than just messing with keys to get level in front.

Guess I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. I think I need rear springs, I have the ZW7 option, and I swapped kyb's in and now it sways back and forth on the highway when hitting bumps or dips, gets a little hairy! So I'm trying to kill two birds. Springs are too soft, so I want to change the rear springs, and I'm also looking to lower it, so...... I hope this guy gets back to me.
