I recently got a 2 inch Rough Country leveling kit installed on my 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe LTZ and I am looking at getting some 22 inch monster xd's and I don't know what the largest tire i can go with is. I am planning on either putting some Nitto Mud Grapplers or Toyo Open Country M/T's. Does anyone know what size tire I could fit?

Stick with a 33...If you go any bigger you'll have to trim the hell out of it...

SW CT,
yup and being a 2" kit try to stick to a narrow 33 anything over a 285 in section width will require quite a bit of trimming.

I'd save up and go with atleast a 4" lift unless u think you'll be satisfied with such a narrow tire. I had a 285 on mine and thought it just looked to wimpy. just my .02 cents

I appreciate you guys haha. I think yall have about persuaded me to just put some 22's with street tires on it. I was hopin for at least some 305's! I don't want it to look wimpy, when you say trimming do you mean wheel well or fenders?

I have 285/70-17s on my '07 with the 2.5"/1" leveling kit. They're 32.75" in diameter, 11.2" wide and I don't think they look "wimpy" by any means. I think you'd be fine with a 285 like mine.

Nitto offers their Terra Grappler tire in 285/50-22. Those are about 33.25" in diameter. You could probably get those to fit in there without too much work...

You MIGHT be able to go with a 305/45-22....these are actually only 32.8" tall but they're 12.0" wide. You may have some rubbing depending on wheel offset.

IMO street tires are not as meaty as MTs.

285s on stock rims...

I agree with 2ELO about the 285's. I'm running 285/50/22's which are like 33.2 x 11.45 or something close, w/ a 2.5"/1.5" kit and they don't look "wimpy" to me at all.

In regards to rubbing, I don't know if there is added issues between the Nitto TG's like I have vs a M/T since the M/T's typically have side lugs and the beefier tread seems to stick out a little more than an A/T.

All I know is it seems pretty much all of us with a leveling kit and bigger tires have had to do some trimming thanks to all of the lovely plastic GM puts on these things.

Haha oh well you gotta do what you gotta do but that helps a lot, thanks. Your Yukon looks sick I'm kinda going for that look. But yeah that doesn't look wimpy At all. How does having those 22's affect the price of tires? Do you know which has better tread wear between the trail grapplers and open country m/t's?
