I've seen on here that you can lift one of these models much more than needed with out buying the torsion bar keys. If I am going to use what is already there, how do I know what stock ride height was?

measure the fenders then lift from there. What you need to avoid is bad CV angles, and ball joint angles as well as resting the control arm on the droop stops. Ride heights from truck to truck are all different.

I just want to go 2" above stock and I was wondering what the stock level was.

should i change the shocks as well with a 2.5" lift?

Yes new shocks would be a good idea, I like bilstiens for the money.

Stock level...different from truck to truck.
