I just went through a very expensive project.
My 2000 Yukon XL would not turn right. Turning left was fine.
After googling, I found it was the steering position sensor. I replaced it. No difference.
I then replaced the power steering pump. No difference.
I checked all Zerk fittings, filled them, no difference.
I tested tie rods, ball joints, no difference.
My main thought from the beginning was the steering gearbox. I had it replaced first. No difference.
After spending a lot of money, I went back to the original thought. It turned out the steering gearbox was defective. Any time you cant turn in any one direction, like no power steering in that direction, it is 99% of the time the gearbox.
Don't make the same mistake I did!
