2001 GMC Yukon XL Dash Bezel Upgrade

Hey guys,

I am new here and have a quick question. I want to put a double DIN in my 2001 GMC Yukon XL. I was wondering if anyone knows if the next generation dash bezel with the bigger radio opening will fit my 2001?

The 03 and up bezel will fit, but you will also need the case when doing the convertion.

Yeah '03-'06 dash bezel, and a 'radio cage' mod is needed, I too am searching local junk yards for the parts, a dealer said -for the radio cage, you would have to buy the whole {behind the dash harness} that even goes behind the speedometer for just over $600 and to buy a replacement dash bezel thru a dealership would be $185. So ebay, or a junk yard would be a better bet. Also here is a great resource found on youtube--

From my understanding u lose the 3 cig adapters and ash tray if that matters to u ( it does to me)

Yes you do, but you can trim out the bottom of the bezel to allow the door to swing up and down and allow the ash tray to slide out. Not to difficult if you have the appropriate tools.

what about if you have the "long console" iin a denali, will an 03+ bezel fit? im dying to do the double din conversion but i dont want to get the bezel until i know it will fit ok

i had a double din in my 01 without the cage.. also the cage is a PITA to get out. there is a big rivet in the back that you cant get a drill on. all i did was remove the cage, cut the back out, bolt two wood blocks on the inside on each side for a gm DD kit to bolt to and done. i cut my dash trim bezel, could not find a DD one. i just put my factory radio back in no problem, and put my kenwood in my denali.
