2001 GMC Yukon XL parking brake light always on

My parking brake light stays on all the time. What could be the cause?

Possibly the foot pedal is not returning all the way up to the top of it's travel when released.

It blinks when it's engaged, but just on solid when its not. It also doesn't hold well at all. The abs light isn't on

Brake fluid full? (Had a intermittant brake light with low fluid before on other vehicles) just tossing out the idea.

Yes, checked the brake fluid and it's full.

The parking brake really doesn't even work. I can have it fully engaged and still drive with no change at all (not that I do that).

Check the brake pedal position sensor, it's located on rife brake ordeal assembly

I think something is actually wrong with parking brake. Like I said, it doesn't hold at all. I can literally tell no difference when it is engaged vs disengaged.
