2001 Tahoe cargo door open warning light

Hey, there is a message center light on permanently it says CARGO DOOR ADJAR its a 2001 tahoe. The pink and black wire connected to one of the plugs going into the bcm is for the cargo door ajar light. Could I tap into that wire while it's still connected to the bcm and run a ground to it to get that light to stay off for good? I don't care if I hv a functioning warning light for my cargo door...

What post is this I'm trying to find it I have the same problem with my 2001 yukon xl 2500
