I have a 2001 Tahoe and the carpet on the drivers side seems to always be wet. We have some rain lately, but even when the weather was good it still seemed to be damp. What can cause this to happen? I did google it and others have had bad/clogged drains and also plugged drain for the A/C. How can I check these things? Really don't want the floor board to rust out; thanks in advance.

I had this problem months back when it rained or if i went through the car wash. My problem was the rubber boot that seals the e brake cable under the carpet. Its right next to the hood latch lever, all I did was open the rubber grommet clean and spread some black RTV silicone under and around it. It has been 5 months and dry to the bone,(now im not sure if this could be the same for you) if you need a picture ill see if I can get one for you tomorrow.

A photo would be awesome. I bet that is the problem. A few weeks back the e-brake cables snapped on me. I had new cables installed, but no doubt they did not pay attention to that seal. I will definitely check it out, but I would also very much appreciate a photo.

Thanks!

Sorry I've been a little busy with work, Here are the pictures I took. It's right behind the emergency brake pedal under the carpet.
