2002 Suburban engine question

I am looking to replace the current engine which has spun a rod bearing. This motor has over 275,000 miles. I'd like to replace it with a newer model engine. My question is, what would be the newest engine that I can replace the current 2002 model with. Also without any modifications to the engine itself. Just a plug and play. Thanks for any help.
