2002 yukon passenger door wont open

Some how I lost my initial post about this stuck door so i will repeat it. My rear passenger door is stuck in the closed position. I managed to get the door panel off from the inside (easier than I expected) and it appears that the locking mechanism has some broken part inside via a comparison with the mechanism on the other side. I have not been able to get any part to move to unlock the mechanism from the door latch to be able to get the door open to remove the mechanism. I don't know that any pictures would help describe the situation but if that would help I can get some. Has anybody had experience with this delima?
