Hey all. I had a thread going about a year ago about swapping in a 6.0/4l80e/manual shift NP261 t-case. That idea got dumped when I decided to sell the 6.0 and the transfer case. Now I've got the 80e sitting in my garage and my 60e is slowing dying. I'd put the 80e in without a hitch if the splines matched up but the 1/2 ton NP246 has a 32 spline input shaft vs the 29 from the 80e output.
So my question is this. Does anyone know if an NP246HD push button from a 2500hd would plug into my Tahoe's harness and work with the existing push buttons? I've found a couple on the local CL for anywhere form $2-500. I have driveshafts to make it all work and my buddy can modify my crossmember without a problem.
I just want to be sure I can plug in the newer HD version of the same t-case without a hassle.
Thanks for any input fellas! My main reason for going with the 80e is because I saw my mom go through about 4 different 60e's in a little 4.3 Blazer and I don't want to be in the same boat. I also will be towing a travel trailer and would rather have the HD components behind my 5.3. Thanks for the help guys!
