2003 EXT Audio Issue

2003 EXT with Bose and On-star, and a after market radio. Radio was installed in 2018 and worked fine until last month. Radio energizes, but is mute until the truck is put in Park and the engine off. All fuses recently checked good. I do have a hot wire from the battery I could hook it to, but I do not want to fry any control modules.

Just curious, are you trying to listen to music or watch a movie?
If trying to watch a movie you'll have to ground the radio to the parking brake to get it to work. That works on most cars and aftermarket radios.

I recall having this issue before with music and if I remember correctly it was the neutral safety switch causing the issue. That was 15 years ago so I may be wrong .
