2004 gmc yukon sle transfer case switch problems

Hey yall so I have a 2004 gmc yukon sle 5.3l with full time 4×4/AWD it has the 3 button switch my issue is the AWD light and 4lo light are illuminated and it won't let me do anything with the 4×4 system I have no codes other then a MODE SWITCH CIRCUIT FAULT its absolutely gutless if I put it in drive and go but if I manually shift it it runs perfect is my switch just bad or do I have other problems I've gone through everything and can't find any issues other then my buttons not working when I bought it everything worked minus the traction controll button and now this any help would be great TIA.

Could be bad switch assembly or associated wiring. But could also have a bad/dirty encoder shift motor position sensor which is mounted on side of Tcase. Need a decent scanner that will show you what position it thinks it is in and go from there.
