Good evening All,

The Ex-Wife changed out the tires on her 2004 Yukon today.

Original Size was 265/70 R17 WITH Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensors. The NEW Wheels and Tires are 285/50 R20 WITHOUT TPMS.

The DIC now calls for "Service Tire Monitor", see attched pic.

Anyone know how to simply turn this off, reset the system?

Many thanks in advance.

You cant just turn it off or reset it. You have to have the sensors. As far as I know it cant be turned off with an ecu reflash either.

Not sure if gm's tpms are like fords....fords attach to the wheels with bands around the rim so you cant jus put them on larger rims....need new bands. If thats how they install....

Not on the GM. I changed mine from a 16" inch rim to my 20's with no problem.

Thanks for the input though.

You can have it shut off since its an 04 and not manditory to have. I went to my local dealer found a tech and offered him 20 bucks to go in with the gm comp and delete it. Now no more service tire monitor BS

i wasnt aware they could do it to an 04, but the sensors werent federally mandated until '06 IIRC so an 05 should be no different than an 04
