Hello all. A little back story: I have a 2004 Yukon Denali with 330k+ miles and the engine is about done. Transmission was rebuilt last year and has maybe 10k miles on it. Even with the high miles the truck is almost perfect. I will be doing an engine swap soon, probably 6 months tops if I make it that long. My question is whether to go with an LQ4 like I have now or an LQ9. Also am I better off finding a junkyard engine or buy a new crate engine? I could most likely salvage parts off of my engine if need be, it has a slight tick but no knocking or real damage currently just leaks oil and coolant like crazy. I don't tow just drive to work and back daily, but I would be interested in some mild performance upgrades in the future. Any suggestions or advice is much appreciated!
