I recently purchased an 05 Yukon Denali. When I start the truck I hear a strange grinding noise under the steering wheel.
I noticed the gear actuator under the driver dash is continually moving back and forth. When I set the climate control to blow from the dash vents the noise stops. Now the climate control will randomly turn off.

Any Ideas? Im thinking there might be some sort of vacuum leak thats causing the actuator to keep cycling.

Ive also got a "service airbag" and "service TPMS" message. Any advice on this would be helpful

I was hoping someone might have had a similar issue and could give me some advice!

Thanks!

Try posting in the 2000-06 section, but here's what I've learned based on a 2004 that I have.

The actuators on the automatic hvac are electric and are trouble prone. I've taken one apart, cleaned the grease off of the contacts and got it to cooperate for about a year, but it is hunting again. When you disconnect one, there is a relearn procedure but I forget the process.

The batteries in each tire pressure sensor have a certain lifespan and are not replaceable. You have to replace the entire sensor which is in the rim. I'm waiting until I replace the tires to address mine. You could try the TPMS recalibration procedure, but if the batteries are toast, then it won't recognize the sensors:

The airbag light would probably require a scanner to pull the code and see what is going on.

Hope this helps.
