I have a 2005 Tahoe LT 4x4 with rear heat n air. The heater core started leaking on passenger floor board. I decided to take it to a guy I had used in the past on jobs. He did it and I started having issues from da6 1 but he says not all his fault. He didn't hook up antenna which he fixed. But I use to not have to touch the A/C button. When you turned it to cold the A/C can on when you turned it to heat it got warm. It works right when I turn the A/C button on, except one day when I punched it the cold air got hot for a minute or two. But ever since I have had issues with my rear heat and air. I use to be able to turn the heat on upper/ lower or both same with A/C and it worked. It started out only heat at bottom and air at top. But now I can't switch the air flow any where. I tried using the button on the middle back and it wouldn't work but also messed up the rest from moving. Any ideas if this is from the heater core replacement or just bad timing?

You'll have a better idea of what's going on if you get a scanner on it that can read body codes -- the inexpensive readers show engine codes only. A good bi-directional scanner would allow you to test the function of the actuators, etc.

You can try a reset of the system by disconnecting the positive battery terminal and touching the positive cable to the negative battery post for a few seconds to discharge the system. Before doing so, set all the controls to the middle positions and then after reconnecting the battery, start the truck and don’t touch anything for 5-10 minutes and all the actuators will recalibrate. There’s about 6-7 total front and rear. It’s possible they are confused.
