Bought cap to bleed the power steering system. Wow that really quieted down the hydro boost and the power steering..[emoji15][emoji849][emoji106][emoji41][emoji108][emoji40]

What is a a “cap”? I thought you just leave the cap off and go lock to lock
You can put a cap on the power steering reservoir and draw a vacuum. Helps pull the air out of the system. For some vehicles, it is required to properly bleed the system.

Here's one I used to bleed power steering / hydro boost ect. Mine has cooler in front of radiator also ..I just popped on the pump and pulled 15 and let sit for 15 mins .mine I did 3 times and kept going down to 13-14 so then jacket up frontend turned wheels all the way one way and then all the way the other way and did vacuum again .. then took it for run to get it hot .. and did 2 more times . Now it's so quiet you can hardly tell that it's running the hydro boost makes more noise than the pump now. We'll worth $20 for vaccine cap .
I used a Craftsman handheld vac pump.33715c865f2a7db68a6a3c3750de4c1e.jpg

I suppose your method would let me know if there’s a leak somewhere, I’d guess it wouldn’t hold vacuum for long if there was

Is there a reason the regular bleed procedure didn’t work for you?
Are you thinking the cycling of turning it .. ya never worked. I always still had parking lot hard turning and pump noise ..I will drive it for while now and report back so far so good . Puting new shocks on now .

Guys at the place I bought the pump and steering sector said if you have hydroboost and a cooler. Only way to get air out is vaccum.. and get this they said a hose can suck air and still not leak fluid .[emoji15][emoji849]
