Hi
Is it possible for the average mechanically inclined person to change the leather seat bottom with a new GM cover or is it recommended to take it to upholstery shop?
Thanks

Well I havent done it yet. but Katzkin makes a kit for a Do it yourselfser. So I would think its a relatively simple procedure

super easy if u are inclined at all. and u might want to post over in the 2007+ section for people with experience with the exact truck you have but they are basically the same process. they are made where a GM dealer tech can do it and we all know they don't have the best of skills haha

Youll probably need some basic tools to change it

Hog ring pliers
Hog rings
Pair of dikes. or sidecutters
sockets and such to take the seat out and apart
Should be self explanatory once you get it off and out. GL!
