Hello all. I'm in the market for a Tahoe PPV. I found a 2007 truck with 165k miles on it. Runs great, but has scratches and dents on the passenger side from a sideswipe. The seller is asking for $8500. Is this fair? Is there anything that I can look for, being that it was a police vehicle? Are there any big mechanical issues I should worried about, now or down the road? What do you all think? Thanks in advance.

That price is quite high for a 10 year old truck especially if it's a RWD PPV and not a 4x4 SSV variant. Is the seller the second owner after the police/government or is the car coming straight from the auction. The mileage overall is quite low for a decade of use but there'll be engine idling, etc... You'll also have to deal with the repairs on the exterior but how's the interior?

It's kind of high, I saw a Tahoe last year before I bought mine it was an 07 or 08 with 245k and he was asking 6500 hundred I don't know if it was 2 or 4 wheel drive and I think it was an LT the body was in real good shape.. so yea with it needing bodywork I would pass. Just my 2 cents.

If you really are interested, offer him 5K, do like the Pickers do, start low, you can't come back down.

Good luck !

I'm pretty sure he's the third owner. The interior is nice. He put in leather seats instead of the cloth and vinyl ones. And he has it carpeted throughout the cabin.

He didn't budge much, but I got him down to $7800...
