2007 Tahoe Stuck in 4 low

I have 2007 Tahoe LTZ with 68000 miles. Started it up this morning and it drove funny. well because it was in 4 low. The switch was still on 2wd but the 4 low light was on. put it in neutral and switched it to 4 high. 4 high light blinks, while 4 low light stays on then 4 high quits blinking after few mins. and 4 low is still on. the short of it "IT will not go out of 4 low" at all. Light indicates that its trying but will not. Let me know yr. thoughts. Thanks Robb

Odd that it's happening while the switch is set to 2wd. When you try to shift back in 2wd, are you staying in neutral until the light is done blinking or are you shifting back into gear? The autotrac t-case won't shift out of low if the transmission is in gear so that's important. Also, being in 4low will automatically disable your traction control system and stabilitrak, which is normal. Are those warning lights on the dash illuminated? They should be when in 4low. If they aren't, then it sounds like a solenoid in the tcase or the switch in the dash took a dump on you and shifted the tcase by itself.

Is the truck parked outside? Is it cold where you are? If so, the solenoid may have just gotten cold and froze up. Warm the truck up, try to switch into 4-hi, then back to 2wd. If it still won't go, try driving in reverse a little bit. It's weird, but sometimes driving backwards will free up sticky diff lockers and t-cases.

This same problem is just happened to me. I will try the reverse trick but is there anyway to illiminate whether it is the dash switch or solenoid, or encoder motor, I am handy with a dmm. just need to know what to check, and wiring diagrams are always wonderful to have,
