I get a vibration while driving between 45-60 mph. (1500-2000rpm) When I let off the gas pedal the vibration goes away. Tires have been rotated and balanced. When the transmission is in auto it shakes/vibrates more. Also if you down shift to 3rd it goes away. I took it to the Chevy dealership in enterprise Al. They replaced the rear u joint helped but not completely gone. I need ideas to give them because they tried to tell me it was the tires and they are brand new and I had them Rotated and balanced twice to ensure it was not this problem. Please any advice is appreciated.

I encourage you to take the advice of your dealer. Were the tires rotated and balanced at the dealer? Are they centered on the hub? Aftermarket tires?

The tires and wheels are stock and the company that mounted and balanced the tires is Firestone. The tire manager walked me through the process and he definitely ruled out a tire issue. Thanks again for any assistance.

Dang Man I feel your pain. I have read on another sites when I was looking to buy new tires. And I read sum tire reviews not sure if it was Firestone, but they had the same problems your having. I heard sum tires are really hard to balance then others. The guy said they balance them 4 times before they replaced them. Try switching your tires and see if your problem still exist.

IMHO yes I think so. I drove to grayton beach this weekend and when ever the Tahoe is in high gear 4/OD and I am maintaining speed but not downshifting the vibration occurs. (45-60 mph 1500-2000rpm). If I slow down or speed up it goes away but when I am at a consistent speed and then apply a little but of gas pedal you feel the shake. If I manually downshift or let off the gas the vibration goes away immediately. I am going to take it back to the dealer tomorrow. I wanted to be able to recreate the vibration incase they say they can't I know that I can show the service manager. I went and spoke with two different tire shops Goodyear & Firestone and they both told me my tires are fine. Thanks for any and all advice.

I have been reading a lot of different forums and it seems others have had thi very issue I am having and the tires even when replaced were not the issue. I will keep doing research until I can figure the problem out and other advice is greatly appreciated.
