2008 Denali XL 6.2 116k
The engine has a lifter type rattle/noise
When I rev the motor up no matter if it's 1500rpms or 5000rpms
The rattle maintains the same rythm if I could upload a sound clip I would do so
It's loudest coming from the drivers side rear of the engine.
It's driving me nuts

I googled it, and it's pretty damn close... I took a video but YouTube won't let me upload it.
It's been driving me nuts... Pretty sure that's it.
Thanks

Will turning off AFM stop this noise or do I replace them?
Thanks

Missed the year. The 2008 does not have AFM, just standard lifters. But still sounds like a lifter issue. Could be piston slap though, which usually goes away when warm. However, some of the early 6.2s would not stop doing it when warmed up.

common 6.2 problem that I have not experienced with my personal truck, but have seen on others. I think there is a TSB that states lifters need replaced. And correct 08 has no AFM.

David, your 6.0 is a different animal lol
