Morning All,
I need advice or opinions....went for usual 4 hour drive yesterday...first 2 hours great no check engine lights no history of codes on this truck...got a bite to eat went to continue on...this is where it begins!
within 500 feet heard a "clank" noise then began repeating...immediately pulled over and had my son walk next to the truck at very low speed..was thinking a tie rod broke...or rotor cracked...it started to get worse at low speeds...repeated checking under the truck...thinking a drive line u joint was coming loose...nothing visible.
truck reverses fine...put into drive and the most violent sound and clanking noise I ever heard from a vehicle...Im thinkin the spline broke...my transmission fluid is bright red...no shavings or sparkles present..this truck has really been taken care of 110K on a 2008...oil change and service records for 100K
going to take to dealership first for diagnosis-due to it being a hybrid...ugggh!!
anyone want to help me figure out what Im up against here...please comment and Ill answer any questions....please keep in mind...never a check engine light...no stored codes...no signs of slipping tranny or any burnt smells...serviced and well kept truck...please help me figure this out.
