I added a onstar vcim from a 2010 silverado for the Bluetooth function. I have a appt at the dealer to flash the onstar module to have my vehicle info on it if I do that do I lose the remote link ability. or does it not matter as long as the onstar module is capable.I don't want onstar to not have the right vehicle in case of a accident.the module I used was 20827036. please let me know.

Ive never heard of a dealer getting it to learn a new vin. Whatever you do if you dont get it programmed dont tell onstar just ride ut out as a silverado. They have been know to lock people out of service once they know its not in its original vehicle. You can always explain to an operator later that you are in a different vehicle in case of a accident.
