2008 yukon fans in an 01 hoe

so theres a guy near me selling fans from a 2008 yukon and ive got an 01 tahoe. hes telling me i have to get a new radiator for these to fit, i say i dont. is this true? some help would be good cause i wanna pick them up today or tomorrow. thanks

As long as you have the 34" radiator it should swap. I can't remember what year those started in the SUVs so you will have to measure. I believe the older radiators were 28", which can't support the efans.

Stay with the OEM efans too... they last much longer than the aftermarket ones. Been down that road a lot through the years.

I'll measure it in a little bit. But basically if it is the smaller radiator then they won't work at all? Or can they be mounted to work? I'm going to stick with oem fans either way, it's just the right thing to do lol

I thought someone said a while back that the mounting bolts were different as well as fit, I'd stick with the '05's or '06's OEM fans, they will for sure mount up like stock if you have the bigger radiator! I did the '05 swap on my denali and they look completely factory and they work great!

Mine is an 02 and has the 34" radiator so I know it was offered then at least. If you have the smaller radiator you can still use C5, transam, or camaro fans. Thats what I ran on mine to start with, was a little too small for my radiator though but should fit the smaller ones pretty well.

The newer fans fit just like the pre-07's do..The only difference is the fan blade setup..

so i measured and ive got the 34" radiator so theyll fit in good. now how did all of you wire them up? im thinking of getting the blackbear harness but im not sure if im going to use blackbear for a tune or not.

You can use a harness from them and still have somebody else tune it...

Is there something about the fan blade design on the '07+ that prohibits those fans from being used in our Tahoe's? Everything I've read so far from other threads makes a point to only get the fans from the models prior to that year. When BB did my tune I had them turn the pins on for the e-fans. Now that I'm looking to do that mod soon, it would be nice if I could look at more model years than just '05 to '06.

Who's got $.02 for this topic?

My friend has an '07, I will have to take a look at his and possibly a couple measurements and see if there is indeed a difference the next time I see him! I'll report back when I do and let you guys know what I find out!
