2010 Yukon Denali shake at 50 and 80mph

i have the same thing but my steering shakes at 70+ and has since it was new.. 2012 tahoe.. it drives me insane and the dealership limited it but it has never gone away.

On mine I have put new tires road forced balanced new rack new alignment ect all trying to fix it.

For whatever reason mine is worse when there is a strong crosswind on the highway.

I recently rotated the tires and the shake has moved from the steering wheel to more in the seat so I believe that I may have a rim out of round in the rear. I have spin them on the machine and don't see Any abnormalities. It must be minor on whichever it is.

The tires have been completely replaced due to a recall from Michelin about 2k miles ago, same shake with new. New GM rotors installed was doing it before the replacement and same after the replacement. I can feel it slightly in the wheel but really bad if you put your hand on the passenger seat. I have a gps mounted next to the radio flat screen and I see it shaking. The shake is really like if you take your fist and pound it lightly at about 2 to 3 hits per sec. Tires show no wear, does not pull at all. The dealer did check the drivetrain and my tech is really cares so I trust him. any ideas to have them check or is there any thing I can do to narrow this down? I love this truck and the shake starting to tic me off!

From everything I have read and I have researched this to death.

If its in the seat and not the steering wheel start with the rear first. I would pull the rear passenger wheel,
Check for bends. Check for water in tire. Check for wheel hop. ( I have had a bad tire brand new before. It did not cause a shake but I could see the hop on the machine when spun) this was a 20 low profile on a car.
Check air pressure. Make sure they don't have one tire over inflated. I like my oem 22" at 37lbs.
Check balance. Sometimes wheel weights fall off.

One thing the guy who just balanced my tires last did was he noticed the rim was taking too much weight in one spot. He said its probably where the tire was mended together coupled with the rims imperfections. He removed the tire set it in a different spot and it took much less weight the next time to balance.

I've got this problem, too. I'm pretty sure it only showed up @ a month or two ago. I just took it to my buddy who owns a wheel shop, and he checked to see if I had a bent rim. No bent rims, according to him. I was hoping I had one so that I would know how to fix the issue. No dice there.

I've got the vibration up through the steering wheel, too. It's not a violent shake like with a balancing issue. It's a really tight vibration, as though I were trying to go 200 mph and the truck was at it limit or something -- but, it's definitely in the 65+ range, and maybe worse (or more noticeable) @ 80 or so.

Furthermore, I sometimes get the impression that it shakes MORE when I am off the gas (coasting at those higher speeds). That leads me to believe that it's in the drivetrain somewhere. But, I can't imagine what the cause would be. Could universal joints cause the condition?

I'm hoping to have a mechanic diagnose it soon. Drives me nuts.

If it's a drive shaft that's not balanced where do we go to figure this type of thing out?

So yours is vibrating more as you left off the gas too? Start with your driveshaft(s) and u-joints. Inspect the differential(s) for excessive play in the yoke. The driveshafts or propellers as GM likes to call them may need to be rebalanced. Local shops in your area can handle that.

Not as likely but check the motor mounts and rotors and wheels on the inside for bends. A harmonic shake that is felt in the seat is almost always the rear tires and in the steering wheel the front tires.

My lovely wife would complain of either from time to time and I would test drive and sure enough there was vibration. Sometimes a lot! More than once she flat spotted the tires from locking them up and hit quite a few curbs or road debris that bent the wheels. I replaced 5 wheels on one car over the course of 5 years, they just kept getting mysteriously dented! The solution to the flat spot was a good burnout to make them round again.

Slightly unrelated was her complaints of vibrations while braking. After test driving, sure enough the rotors were warped. Did you dive into any puddles and hit the brakes Hunnie? Only a few she would say. That was her learning curve and bless her heart she's much more mindful now, seeing how much those mistakes cost us.

ive been reading these topics to no end. It seems like everyone is having these issued with any wheels over 20", GM original or reps...frustrating. I am getting the ones I just bought rebalanced tomorrow and im hoping my 70+mph vibration disappears.
