My head unit was replaced with a new one when I purchased this 2010 Tahoe Z71, (Used) by the dealership. My vehicle has no navigation screens, no back up cameras, so the head unit is am/fm/xm with CD, and no port for android Bluetooth. ( It just has what I assume to be an earphone jack on the lower right side of the head unit) and the system is Bose. My question is, can anyone recommend either a way to connect my phone to this unit, or a new head unit that will allow me hands free cell use?

You could get a newer Bose head unit, which would have the connectivity capability to Bluetooth for your phone. You may need to get the new Bose head unit programmed to your truck's VIN.

You could also rip out the entire Bose system and install a quality aftermarket head unit with all of the capabilities that you desire, but you would have to change the speakers too, as Bose systems use non-standard speaker Ohm impedances (at least in the front speakers).

I think the bluetooth connection is in the VCIM? (onstar module)

Here's a thread, despite a hiccup somewhere, contains lots of info..

@petethepug can explain better..
