Due to some unfortunate luck in my wife's family, my father-in-law gave us her mom's Escalade. We agreed to take over the the balance due of $20k. It is the 6.2L AWD flex fuel. It has 48k miles on it and is in mint condition.

If you'll see my first post in this forum, my in-laws gifted us their 2008 Tahoe when my wife's aunt sold my mother-in-law her Escalade. My wife's family is extremely OCD when it comes to vehicle maintenance so I know there's nothing at all wrong with the Escalade.

We have a 2008 Tahoe already and it is a great running truck. I am a big fan of the 5.3L even with the AFM that I had disabled with the Range AFM delete module. I am not sure of the 6.2L engine since I have no experience with it.

What can you guys tell me what to look out for and is the AFM system good to go in this or should I get another Range delete module?

+1 for above. Even though the truck runs good now, that might change some time down the road, so disable it asap. You'll be better off.

6.2 doesn't have afm 4cyl mode. No worries there.

AFM hardware was present in the 6.2 from 2007 on, but the PCM software was only enabled starting 2010. This is both the Escalades and Denalis.

L9H - AFM hardware, but not enabled - 2007-2009
L94 - AFM software enabled in PCM - 2010-2013

My 2011 Escalade has the L94 engine, the AFM is activated. I drove it with the instant fuel economy display on and watched it cycle between 4cyl and 8cyl and can feel a slight "pause" when going from 4 to 8cyl mode. I will be picking up a Range AFM disable module for it pretty soon.
