guys the wife and i just bought a 2011 tahoe, and traded our 04 z-71 tahoe in. The problem is the new tahoe has no get up and go compared to the old one . Is it just the gears? This one has 3.08's, and the other had 3.73 i believe. I figured the extra 40 horse and six speed would minimize that, plus we are only running 17 inch tires. This thing is a slug. Thanks for the help.

While its not a rocket, mine is certainly NOT a slug. Mine has the towing package that includes the 3.42 gearing.

I hear ya, I have the same gears and mine feels sluggish sometimes. I would love to have 3.73 or even 4.10's...

I had a 02 Yukon and liked the way it shifted and drove. I bought a 2011 Tahoe LTZ with the 3.42 gear that I have had for a year and HATED the way it shifts and drives especially in traffic under light acceleration. It shifts through the gears to soon and just falls flat, hesitates, and bogs when you want to accelerate easily. Then as you keep applying gas to get it to go it downshifts sometimes 2 gears and revs up and goes harder/faster then I wanted.

After many months of doing research and reading all of the forums I finally just decided to get a tune (Autocal from Blackbear) and it is night and day difference. It now builds more RPM's before shifting just like my 02 Yukon did but does not feel or sound like it over revs. It always seems to be in or find the right gear under acceleration and does not have the hesitation or bogging as before. Money well spent for the tune as I am finally happy with the HOE after spending 50K+ for a vehicle.
