Not really sure how this forum thing works but I have a 2011 Tahoe Ltz . Passenger side cooling fan not working. Wondering if I need to replace the whole fan assembly (both fans) or just a single motor. Both fan have 5 blades is that the correct set up or should it be 7 or 9 and is an aftermarket replacement ok like from rock auto or autozone

Pics of the truck, please.

You are already receiving sage advice from the knowledgeable folks on this Forum.

Check your fuses first. If the fuses are good, check the power wire connector to the dead fan, when your other fan is running and see if you have 12 volts at the power connector.

You can replace the motor if you determine that is the problem, you can verify by swapping the harness to the other fan, start the truck and turn the ac on. Sometimes if the motor burnt out it melts the harness as well so check the plug good, if it looks melted or has black burn marks replace it also. There was a recall for some of these trucks because the harness would melt potentially causing a vehicle fire.
