2012 LT lift gate problem

Lift gate opens from FOB and ceiling button. But, it opens about 1.5 feet then goes right back down.

After reading several threads I'm assuming it's the struts need to be replaced or the motor or sensors possibly.

Is there any way to know which of these are causing the issue?

Maybe try help lift it when it's opening with light pressure. If it goes up all the way I'd suspect bad lift struts

I tried that, actually takes a lot to push it up so it doesn't come right back. Attaching a short video.
