Hello, new to forum. Wife's 2012 (>150k miles) Tahoe was blowing hot air on way home from work yesterday. Checked pressures and they seem normal, compressor was not kicking on. Later in evening after the car cooled down was blowing cold air but compressor still not cycling. I know its most likely the compressor but is there anything else that could be wrong that would prevent the compressor from cycling? Possibly the low pressure switch? The accumulator has condensation on it and is cold.

If it’s receiving power to the coil there could be a bad coil/clutch which for most intensive purposes means a *Atleast* $800 mechanics bill for replacing a compressor because clutches are almost as expensive especially after labor it’s only a few hour job at that point but if the coil is getting power and not firing it’ll hurt a lil in the wallet department. And usually when a clutch/coil goes a compressor isn’t far behind just don’t forget the orifice tube while in there. This is precise stuff I was able to do my ac system but if you do one thing wrong or overlook one trouble part it will not work

If the clutch isn’t receiving power at the plug then you need pressure switches one is located on the receiver drier (low pressure) and one is located on the compressor i bypassed my high pressure switch but don’t do that. Pressure switches mean a pulled compressor.

Can we have basics first. Need pressures when a/c is activated and the ambient temp when you do that.
