Hey everyone. I have searched and searched for an answer to my question and can not seem to find a definitive answer.

I have a 12 Yukon with 5.3.

Looking to find out what year trucks/SUV Rear axles are interchangeable. I have found one from a 2005 with the coil suspension and everything else I want. But can not figure out if they are in fact the same.

No matter what I need one that is Pre 2010? From what I have understood there are not many 3.73 after that.

I appreciate any input. Look forward to being apart of this forum.

Thank you!

Whats your rear RPO? Glove box sticker.... gu6 etc
4wd? If so gotta match front diff gears if not you can go ftom ‘01 up gm 1500 truck (prob even 92 up suv and 88 up pickups) with gearing you want.
As long as it has disc brakes and if you get one from a pickup you need to remove/relocate/reweld spring perches but other than that you’re good.

It is the 3.42 (GU6). Yes 4x4, and I know the front needs to be changed as well. Those are so easy to find in my area its unreal. And seem to be way more interchangeable compared to the rear.

I mainly asked because I personally have not seen a 1/2 pick up with the Coil Springs. I thought the trucks only came with Leaf's. Wanted to make sure that all the Burbs, Tahoe and Yukons were the same Coil/Shock locations in the Early-Mid 2000's..
