Hi all. New here. I have a well taken care of 2013 2wd LS Texas Edition with 89k miles that I purchased a few weeks ago and I’m worried that either the transmission is about to fail or there might be an issue with the AFM system. Symptoms are listed below.

What I’ve noticed:

-Occasional power surge when upshifting typically from 1st to 2nd
-When cruising in 6th gear between 40-50mph and steady throttle, the RPMs will fluctuate
-While driving if I need to go around someone, I have to give it a lot of gas (sometimes half throttle) so it’ll downshift and accelerate
-Rough idle

Trans fluid is full, clean, doesn’t smell burnt and looks relatively new. Trans temp is also seemingly normal. I have a SnapOn Ethos and did a deep dive into it and there are zero codes.

Here’s what it’s not doing:

-No issues off the line (I’m pretty easy on it and haven’t floored it since the test drive)
-No hard shifting
-Doesn’t seem to be slipping
-No clanks or clunks
-No loss of power and isn’t sluggish

Any insight will be greatly appreciated.

First thing I'd do is pull the pan, new filter and 5+quarts of ATF. Give you a good look at what's in the bottom of that pan.
