We have a 2013 Yukon XL Denali with only 18,000 km on it and had the front differential fail on us after a day of a whining noise coming from the front end. We were told 3-4 weeks for a new differential to be delivered and we are on 6 weeks and the dealer isn't telling us anything despite multiple calls. We have lost our vehicle for over 10% of our ownership time and are growing frustrated. This is our family travel and tow vehicle and to not have it for our summer holidays is frustrating. Anyway, has anyone else experienced this failure or does anyone know what a reasonable wait time is for a new differential to come in?

A funny thing though. We were given a rental to use and it's a Ford Expedition ;)

My 08' XL Denali ate the front differential twice. Second time I think was because the first dealer didn't rebuild it correctly . Only took dealer(s) about 2 days to fix it both times fixed under warranty. I bought the truck with 25,000 miles. diff went at about 30,000 then about 50,000. Dumped that truck like a hot potato

Well the dealership said this would require a new one versus being rebuilt. I hope we don't have to go down that same road.

Have you tried contacting GM customer service? There's no way I'd wait that long for a repair.

Yes, I contacted Jennifer on here and she was very quick to respond and pointed me to customer service in Canada. I called them and they said call the dealer as they didn't have any more information than the dealer would. I told them the dealer told us they had no information and they had no further response.

Sorry to read this; that seems like a failure all around. At least you have a rental vehicle.

Honestly, all I want is for it to be fixed and to stay fixed. We have an upcoming trip with a 10hr drive towing our boat and I have to admit that even if it is fixed by then, I will be very paranoid that it will fail again...I sure hope not.
