I recently purchased a 2014 Yukon XL and trying to toughen up its looks (ok - A LOT) because in its stock config it looks pretty weak!

I sold my 2012 Mustang GT 5.0 w/ Eibach suspension lowered- and though I dont expect it to handle / accelerate like the mustang - the suspension needs a lot of work.

I have always been a big GM fan and still have my 1986 Olds cutlass and did all the work on the suspension upgrades, 7.5L Olds 455 big block bored .030 over (now a 468cubic inch!), 4 speed grand national transmission, 8.5" 3.73 rear end etc..

In my previous thread I outlined the challenges I ran into in installing a 2.5" leveling kit with the upper control arm hitting the bump stop but finally figured out the upper control arm was adjustable to successfully get it installed.

The question is with stock backspacing on the 17" wheels, will there be rubbing on parts if I install the following tire size?

Exo Grappler Heavy Duty All-Terrain AWT
LT285/70R17 E 121/118Q
Tread Depth: 18.4
Tire Diamater: 32.99"
Tire Width: 11.50

Yes - I do realize its a load range "E" tire and it wont ride like 1970's Cadillac anymore and hope to get rid of the sidewall play. If this doesn't help I'll look into boxing in the rear control arms and upgrading the swaybars and spring / shock set. The only time i want a soft suspension like this is if it has 20+" of travel!!

One good thing about GM is you can mix / match from Chevy, GMC, etc to what you want because *almost* all the parts are identical!
