I realize this is a long shot, but thought I'd give it a try here. While driving I hear a rattling noise coming from around the rear passenger side seat. I think it's coming from something in the seat itself, because when I have the wife sit there I don't hear the noise.

Anyone have this and found it what it was?

Thanks in advance.

I realize this could be too simple but is there any chance of the seatbelt latchplate hanging incorrectly and tapping against the side because it's twisted on the webbing or is the webbing twisted just enough to make that happen or something like that?

I have an annoying rattle sound coming from the exact same area. I also thought it may be from the seat belt latch plate but it's not because the child car seat is in there.

check the door panel, open the door and with a closed fist tap around the panel in various places and see if the noise happens if not then tap around the rest of the nearby interior area and around seat. or have someone else drive and sit on the other side and listen for the noise and try and pinpoint it.
felt pads placed in strategic spots will eliminate it once found.

Check where the seat attaches as well as any of the seat support mechanism under the seat.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

I had investigated the seatbelt latch and that doesn't seem to be the problem.

So I started looking at the door panel. About a year ago, the dealer replaced window switches on the rear passenger doors. So I thought (maybe) one or more 7mm bolts were loose. They were good. I did tap around the interior panel and one of the clips at the top seemed to pop in place. Still not it. Even checked the panels under the seat where the hinges are to flip the seat toward the front. So I guess I'm left to removing the door panel and go from there, which i was trying to avoid. I think its something in the door panel, just a PITA to remove/refit.

I had an 02 LT that had an annoying rattle in the driver's door. Opened it up and found a loose bolt attaching regulator and tightened it. Rattle gone.

I pulled the door panel and found one broken clip and a missing one. The dealer didn't have them. But funny thing is they wanted nearly $7 each and I just laughed. The parts guy gave me the part number and I ordered some online. Once I get them I'll report back here, if that was the fix or not.
