2017 6.2 Denali/Rear Auto Level Rear Shocks

Are the auto level air shocks on our rigs simply air shocks or do they have hydraulics and the mag-ride thing as well?
I am not currently having any issues and they hold load and air just fine. I am replacing the fronts with Fox coil overs to eliminate the mag-ride and wonder what options are out there for the rear.

I wouldn’t go with anything but OEM. The replacement OEM struts are made by BWI now and they improved the part. The replacement parts come with lifetime warranty from GM too.

Not knowing your year, model, and trim, I cannot definitively answer your question. However, look at the RPO sticker inside your glove box and look for a Z95 code. If you find it, you have MagnaRide, and it will be installed on the rear shocks, as well (electrical wires plugged into the rear shocks). You will need to install resistors on the front across the wire plug that you removed from the OEM shock (assuming that they exist).

As @SpyShops212 stated, and in IMO as well, OEM shocks or Arnott replacements result in the best possible ride for these trucks. Yes, other folks will disagree, and that is their right to do so.

All k2xx Denali, LTZ and Escalade have magnetic ride. I don’t think any k2xx has the z55 suspension.

If you are already replacing the front with fox then might as well replace the rears...I did the fox 2.5 with piggy back res in the rear. Another cheaper route would be to replace the rear with either oem mag ride/auto level shocks or get the auto level only shocks that have the built in sim which deletes the mag ride.

I would definitely confirm which model and options you have. My 2016 Yukon Denali has mag in front and air in the rear. Just had the front OEMs replaced at the local dealership and it cost me about $1750 for parts and $500 labor. I looked into alternatives and wanted to do it myself but didn't have time. It was riding like an old covered wagon and now it's back to it's original buttery goodness. Haven't yet had any trouble with the rear.
