I am thinking of replacing the stock TB on my 2017 Tahoe with a Jet Power-Flo. I have read some good things about it but wondered if anyone on the board has actual experience. The Jet cost about twice what the OEM costs.

I am not real keen on taking internet reviews as the sole basis for a purchase if I can help it.

Appreciate any feed back.

everything i have seen or read on forums for them is they are worthless & overpriced.

what other mods do you have?
if nothing... you are better off just doing a tune.
check out Black Bear Performance (BBP). they are a vendor here.

when you get to a point of more mods, like CAI, LT headers, & maybe a cam & supercharger. a throttle body could be good.
good results have been seen by porting the stock one for your L83 (5.3L)

or using the intake manifold and throttle body from the L86 (6.2L) & then even porting the L86 TB.

Jay,

Thanks for the feedback. I just bought this 17 (77,000 miles) a few weeks ago and actually haven't driven it much. I made no mods to it all.

But from the limited drive time it has a material lag when starting from a dead stop. When my 07 started that I cleaned the TB, helped some for a few months then started again. I went ahead and replaced the TB with an OEM TB and replaced the pedal/sensor. Improved dramatically.

That is why I was looking at the Jet TB.

I have made contact with BBP regarding a tune. They are out of the Autocals at this time so I'll have to wait that out.
Thanks again,
Tim

If you want to eliminate the throttle lag, I would also recommend the K&N throttle control module. Comes with an adjustable dial and you can make your throttle as sensitive as you'd like. About a 20 min install. I have it installed on my 18 and I love it.

I've had one on my 08 for a few years now. While I've got no complaints, I feel like it hasn't made any difference over stock. If it's now twice the cost, I wouldn't spend the cash.

I bought one a year ago and kept getting error codes, so I sent it back. I have their power stat, MAF, and FIPK, but throttle body is a nogo.

consider doing custom tunes and other upgrades first, start with air intake system
