Why would it work if the front sensors were programmed out or even disconnected?

Disconnecting front facing radar, I believe, completely disables cruise control altogether and wild also disable front crash avoidance functionality.

no, cant trick it or make it work like normal cruise it has built in redundancies that self check the system, which is why it wont work period in certain situations because it thinks something is wrong with it so it shuts off. welcome to your future, pretty soon you wont be able to speed or do much of anything other than be a lemming on the road.

I reckon then that while it can be done, it's probably not worth the time and expense and aggravation for 99% of drivers who don't want it. Sometimes I ask myself Wes, would I trade my '09 for a '79? Would you? Some days I would, others days no way.

It should just be an option you can turn on or off depending on highway conditions. Like traction control, lane departure the radio etc.

I like my 12 a lot, I liked my 00 too but had a ******* for the 12, I had both a 79 & 80 trans am should have held on to one or other, I wouldn't mind having a 01 Tahoe to play with but I would never have the time, I'm still mulling over what to do with my 03 Silverado keep it/sell it & buy something newer im on the fence with it, I wouldn't mind having a 4x4 truck instead of the 2wd but everything around me is flat land and it doesn't snow, if I keep it I have to put some money into it sooner or later, so :fish_h4h:
