New owner here and wanting to get an exhaust, I hear real good things about Cobra but finding it hard to find one for the 6.2 Tahoe, anybody installed this yet?
Am I best to just go the Borla path through the dealer?
-Weld in an electric exhaust cutout just before the muffler to be able to go from stock to loud and back and forth.
-Get the GM Borla accessory exhaust system from your dealership to be sure you get an exhaust with minimum drone when cruising. these do retain the inline valve I believe
First and foremost I would find out what size pipe your factory exhaust system is.
For example on most of the newer SUV's the 5.3L models have 3" pipe and the 6.2L models have 3.5" pipe. Interested to see what you're able to confirm, I would assume that you're factory exhaust is 3.5" since you have the 6.2L but GM has done stranger things I suppose.
From there I think depending on what size your factory exhaust piping is will then help you determine what aftermarket option and/or exhaust modification will be suitable and most "bang for the buck" for what you're looking for.
I did a borla xr-1 3.5" muffler on my new 6.2. Had them delete the flapper valve and the resonator. Sounds awesome.
Muffler was $145
Exhaust shop charged 120 for install and res delete with 3.5" pipe
