Came across a funny vinegar smell lately when I first turn on our 2018 Yukon XL. Has anyone else experienced this before?

Also, unsure if my air is working correctly because at stop lights it really doesn’t cool that well.

Thank you to all in advance.

Do you have a set of gauges to take high and low side readings? It's probably low, but if so, the why needs to be determined.

Do you have a cabin air filter?

Could also be the smell built up from mold on a/c evaporator that is kind of common on some rigs. I think it also depends on how well the a/c drain drains and the area it is driven.

I also agree with @swathdiver about low on refrigerant. Needs gauges on it and post readings here. Readings when a/c is off and when turned on.

definitely check your cabin filter.
then run by dealer & have them check the status of "afterblow" feature in your ECM.
have them enable it , if it is not.

I do, and probably should check/replace that.

Definitely start with a new cabin filter. Changed mine today (slightly embarrassed to admit its the first time its been changed, and the Yukon's third anniversary has come and gone). Filter was amazingly dirty, clogged with dust and loaded with small leaves. I will make it a habit to replace these cabin filters regularly from now on.
