I just recently bought a 2019 Tahoe Premier 2WD.
Premier packages comes with the magnetic ride control suspension.
I have the 5.3L V8.
I have the factory trailer break controller.
Based on option codes, I have 3.42 rear gear ratio.
I don't have the Max trailering option, this was not available on Premier, but I believe based on ratio and trailer break controller my towing should be 8600.

Also in the 2019 Chevy Trailering guide. It has 3 rows for Tahoe. 5.3 with max trailer and 3.42 gears equals 8600lbs, 5.3 with 3.08 gears equals 6600 lbs and 6.2 with 3.23 equals 8400 lbs.

Technically mine does not match any of the 3 options but I have 5.3 and 3.42 rear gear.

Can anyone confirm or have some document that says otherwise?

That's what your owner's manual says, 8,600 pounds.

Watch out for loads with a high sail area, that short wheelbase will get tossed around more than a longer tow vehicle.

All the Premiers between 2015-2020 with 3:42 gears and the trailer brake controller that I have looked at had the max trailing. If not it was 3:08 gears without max trailing. That is very strange yours does not have it, I wonder if that option just was not listed in your codes. The max trailing was all part of the package which included a brake controller and 3:42 gears.

Thanks for sharing, you are correct no NHT code. That is a shame if that package changed at some point and time and you could get 3:42 gears and a factory brake controller without the Max trailering.

See that's the part is confusing me. I just want to know what the GCWR is. The 2019 Chevrolet Trailering Guide https://www.chevrolet.com/content/d...og/02-pdf/2019-chevrolet-trailering-guide.pdf is what is really confusing me. My vehicle does not even fit any of the 3 given for a Tahoe.

I don't really need to tow 8600. But it would be really nice to know.

swathdiver you may be on to something, maybe what was listed as max trailering package in previous years is added to 2019-2020 which was cooling, built-in brake controller, and 3:42 gears.
