Well, here we go again. Spent some time yesterday at a local dealership that actually has a 2022 Yukon SLT available for sale on the lot (wrong color for me, onyx black) and as usual GM once again has not made the cargo area completely flat when the third row seats are folded down so I will need to remove the third row seats and cargo storage box and replace with a piece of carpet covered plywood like I have in my 2015 Yukon (I was one of the very first to do this back in 2015 and posted the instructions here on the forum). So, has anyone here done that yet on their 2021/2022 Tahoe or Yukon? Any pointers? Pics with the seats removed? My ordered Yukon is not here yet or I would already be doing this.
Thanks

Looks pretty flat to me, why do you need it perfectly flat?

I carry some pretty heavy items that go behind the 2nd row bench seat(s). They need to slide out to the back and vice versa. The problem is sliding them back in over the "hump". It may look flat but the 3rd seats have about a 3" rise above the cargo storage box which is not flat.

Ok, I see it now, the little panels at the bottom of the seats appear to be the culprits. First saw those on our 2006 Pontiac Montana. We were always snagging them with smaller items but was ok with plywood and lumber.

I removed the 3rd row in my 2019 tahoe. Remove the remaining bolts, disconnect the quick connection wires, and take it out. Bought a mat from weather tech, and it looks stock.

probably look into the parts for a PPV suburban. If you can find a VIN to do so. If remember right the PPV tahoe's do not have a third row or cargo box, just a rubber mat.

Hi. I have been following your seat removal discussion for years. I followed what you did for your last vehicle and it worked well. Now I am contemplating a 2023 and am concerned if I remove the second and 3 rd row there will be a “ well” of space which will require a platform. Did you ever come up with a solution to yours?

Yes, I left everything in place and cut a 1/2" piece of plywood covered with black thin carpet and added a couple pieces of 1 x 6 underneath near the rear to level it. Now it actually has as much room as the 2015 did and looks great, only takes a couple of minutes to remove if I ever need the rear seats.
