Hi All

Live over in Sweden and have a 2021 Tahoe High Country V8 with issues ..,

Car purschased and imported new from dealer in Germany as Sweden did not have an official importer.

Lifter issues 2 times which is solved but now have a bangning/clicking noise from the transmisson/engine whe reving at stand still or when driving.

If i should try to explain its like a driveshaft hits something inside the transmission when the engine moves in its mounts !

Video :

GM Sweden will not touch it as they say that the warranty is not valid as it is imported ..

Thankfull for all inputs

What makes you think the noise is coming from the transmission? Have you crawled underneath or had it on a lift while doing that for further investigation yet?

Good luck and keep us posted!

Agreed. Does it also occur when in Drive or Reverse? In neutral there is nothing but the torque converter/input shaft turning, clutch bands are not engaged, so there's nothing moving inside the transmission to make a sporadic noise like that. I've heard similar knocks from loose torque converter bolts or a cracked flexplate, but that seems highly unlikely on a new vehicle. Get someone to blip the throttle for you while you listen from underneath to better isolate the source.

Seeing how the motor has been rebuilt twice now, i would venture more to think that there is something loose in the engine bay that may be slapping up against something. Ive seen tools left laying inside the engine bay more than once in my lifetime haaaaaa.

Almost sounds like a air duct slapping, like plastic slapping, like you'd hear outside your house from a dryer vent. Doesn't sound metal to metal, then again not sure about the audio.

I've had various issues with GM transmissions and never heard such a distinct mechanical noise that sounds like its coming from outside, not within a system like an engine or transmission, and since you're sitting still not the drive shaft/ujoints.

Crazy GM Sweden won't touch it because it's imported... do they not have Tahoe's in Sweden or just absolving themselves with some bs excuse?

Get it on some stands or lift and look around.. Good luck!
