Anyone have any driveline slack coming from a dead stop? My wife's yukon at4 will do it one out of every 10 or so stops. No loud clunking, just a bump or driveline slack feeling right after acceleration. More noticeable on an incline.

Could the hill start assist…automatically holds the brakes till you accelerate, so the vehicle doesn’t roll (back or forward, depending on direction or hill and gear you are in).

I thought it was that at first, but it does it on flat ground. To me it feels like a bad motor mount but I'd be shocked at 11k miles if that was it and if it was bad, I assume it would do it non stop not random and intermittently. Oil change almost due so may see what the stealership says, but given there's no check engine lights and its intermittent I'm sure they wont be able to diagnose anything. may need to crawl under and check the suspension is all tight, but there's no classic popping/grinding/rattling that usually comes with worn out ball joints or loose suspension parts.

Just a subtle thud after 1-2 seconds like there is slack somewhere.

This thread and this thread...https://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/2021-yukon-slips-when-accelerating.139367/ may be the same issue. I may just buy a new suspension control module to see if that is the fix. Does anyone have a good parts store they recommend for this type of part?

Thanks,

C

That could be it, seems like a similar issue. Dealership will scan it next week so we'll see, no lights thrown currently.

Just wanted to update this thread in case someone has this issue in the future.

My wife's car was in "auto 4wd". From my understanding GM claims it's fine to drive in this all the time, but really only recommended it in less than optimal road conditions. I cant imagine that it wouldn't expedite front end wear... and I would have changed it to 2wd immediately had I noticed. Either way, after putting her car in 2wd the intermittent slack/thud is gone. I have not been able to replicate the thud over the last week at all, around 4-5 hours drive time.

Hope this helps.
