Anyone ever done this? Is it possible? I notice front control arms of the 2500 ans 3500 GMT-800 have different geometry, allowing for a taller suspension and sturdier design? Would these fit if one wanted to lift the front a little bit, maybe with keys. Would this keep the ball joints and a "Happier" angle?

Just buy new control arms for the 1500. Different frames completely.

I plan to. I was just curious as to the differences. Thanks.

I know the shock mounts are different. Not sure about anything else.
