265 too 285

Didnt anyone notice a difference in power or gas mileage in going from the stock 265/70/16 to 285/75/16? Just wondering if i need to look out for anything when i buy my new tires, thanks

you should be fine, my winter tires are 265/70/17 and my summer tires are 285/70/17. i don't notice a difference at all, the 285's just way better.

im on 295/70R17 n my MPG sucks.... I need to install some 4.10 gears to level out the taller tire. Should improve the MPG and my speedometer reading

it is a fullsize truck, milage sucks period.

I had a stock (with bolt ons) 350 with 3.73 gears 33s......milage was 12.5

have now a 383, 35s 4.56 gears........milage is 12

If I baby the truck the milage may increase by .5 or so

back on subject, you will be fine. Just don't drive like a pissed teenager.

Ive got 31 and went from 425miles a tank on the hwy to 325 now with my 31s im thinking about going back down to 285 with new wheels when i get the money

What? 285's are bigger than 31's. you got worse with your 31's?

How can a 285 be bigger than a 31, when 285 is how wide a tire is? The first number is width the second number is height and the third number is rim diameter. You would need to know the second number to say it is bigger or smaller than a 31.
