So I was talking to the guys at my speedshop today and told them I was thinking about running 26's with a 295/25/26 tire (since it's essentially the exact diameter of the 18" Tires on the Truck) and one of the veteran installers brought up something I never woulda thought about.

When running a tire that thin, he said the Wheel needs to have 2 holes in it, 1 for a standard Valve Stem, and another, kinda tilted, so you can fit the TPMS Sensor at an angle, so if you hit a bump, it doesn't smash the Sensor.

I woulda never thought of that. Of course, you can always run with no TPMS Sensor and deal with the Light on the Dash.

But...anyone else out there running 26's, what size Tires are you running, and do you have your TPMS Sensors Installed or not?

I would absolutely run a bigger Tire, I just don't wanna deal with rubbing, DEF DO NOT wanna do any metal cutting, but trimming the Fender Liner is no big deal.

It depends on the rim itself. Some rims will have 2 holes from the factory IF the way the barrel is made won't accommodate a sensor. I've never seen a legit shop drill a hole.

Most barrels will become larger/smaller (depending on how you look at it) to accommodate sensors since sensors are mandatory in the USA.

Yea, they def weren't gonna Drill a hole. He said most GOOD Wheel Companies should have the 2 holes in it, whereas lesser quality companies would have only 1 hole, and you'd have to deal with the Light.

I have had 2 sets of 26s with TPMS sensors. I had some mounted up a week ago and had the TPMS sensors swapped. No need for a 2nd hole on mine. Dub Skillz are the wheels and I run a 305 30 26.

You can buy slim sensors that strap to the rim on a band. Kinda like a logistics packing strap.
